“I have owned a variety of amps over the years, but nothing matches the smooth, ringing goodness of a cranking Vox. In the past, if we were playing gigs with a backline, and there was only one Vox, there was no chance of anyone else getting their hands on it!! If it's VOX! It rocks!!”

Mike Hackney has toured extensively around Australia with Country Rock outfit McAlister Kemp.

McAlister Kemp debuted as a main stage act at the 2010 Gympie National Music Muster in 2010. They received four nominations in the 2011 Country Music Awards of Australia in the categories of Best New Talent, Song of the Year, Group/Duo of the Year and Vocal Collaboration of the Year. They won the Golden Guitar Award for Best New Talent.

Their debut album Debut album All Kinds of Tough reached #1 on the iTunes Country Chart (Australia) and #8 on the ARIA Country Sales Chart.

The band will perform at the 2011 CMA Music Festival Global Artist Showcase in Nashville. The festival is the biggest country music festival in the world. The trip is sponsored by Commercial Radio Australia and their New Artists To Radio Showcase.
